Slow release soil amendment
Wool pellets take between 6-12 months to fully break down depending on the application, climate, and condition of soil. Over this time, they release nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and a long list of micronutrients at a gentle rate that is easy on plants.
Wool pellets also bring benefits like aeration, and loosening compacted soil to allow for helpful critters like earthworms to join your garden.
Water retention extraordinaire
Wool pellets can hold 3-4 times their weight in water. They’re like little savings accounts full of water that your plants can withdraw from when they need a drink. Especially when wool pellets are used as a mulch, watering efforts can be significantly reduced, saving you time and money and saving the environment unnecessary water usage.
From the finest critters to your garden
We’re kind of obsessed with our alpacas. They’re full of spunk, bring a smile to everyones faces, and process plant matter into a nutrient rich soil amendment for your garden (yep, we’re talking about poop!). We take the little beans they produce and combine them with sheep wool to form an easy to use, clean, and compact pellet perfect for feeding your garden and houseplants.
We don’t have sheep on our farm, but we have taken care to partner with local sheep farmers who align with our animal stewardship beliefs. With their contribution, we are able to bring sheep wool that would otherwise enter the local waste network to your garden.
We offer a sheep wool pellet and a combo sheep wool + alpaca manure pellet to serve a variety of garden and houseplant needs. We strictly source our animal material, packaging, and farm infrastructure from Alberta farms and Canadian companies for both sustainability purposes and to contribute to our local economy. We thank you for considering our small business and appreciate your desire to shop local!
